The Apple Stereo Earphones with Remote and Mic provide the same great audio quality as the earbuds that came with your iPod, and adds a control capsule, located on the cable of the right earpiece, that includes a microphone and three buttons. The microphone allows you to conduct phone calls on an iPhone, or make voice notes on compatible iPods. The control buttons lets you answer and end phone calls on iPhones, and control play/pause and track skip on iPhones and compatible iPods. The volume controls let you raise and lower the volume of compatible iPods.

• The remote and mic are supported only by iPod nano (4th generation and later), iPod classic (120GB/160GB), iPod touch (2nd generation and later).
• Supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPad. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation and later). Audio is supported by all iPod models.
• Requires software version 1.0.3 for iPod nano (4th generation), 2.0.1 for iPod classic (120GB), and 2.2 or later for iPod touch (2nd generation).
